Richard Ravitch, a partner in Ravitch, Rice & Company LLC is the chairman of both the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust's Board of Trustees, and the AFL-CIO Building Investment Trust's Advisory Board.
From 1960 to 1977 his primary business affiliation was in the HRH Construction Corporation, where, as chairman, he created and supervised over 45,000 units of affordable housing in New York City and other urban areas. Mr. Ravitch's professional career has been a mixture of business and public service. He served as chairman of the New York State Urban Development Board and for four years chaired the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of the State of New York. He is a former principal owner and chairman of the Bowery Savings Bank of New York.
