George Latimer
Distinguished Visiting Professor of Urban Land Studies
Macalester College
 

George Latimer has been a distinguished visiting professor of Urban Studies at Macalester College since January 1996. In January 1998, Mr. Latimer completed two years of service as CEO of the National Equity Fund. The NEF finances affordable housing for working people through use of Low Income Tax Credit. The Fund manages $2.5 billion, which includes 40,000 units in 23 cities, providing housing for 100,000 Americans. Previously, Latimer was appointed by HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros to head the newly created Special Actions Office in July 1993 and served in that capacity until November 1995. He also served 14 years as the Mayor of St. Paul, Minnesota.
